About Danibie Sushi
We are a sushi restaurant on 49 Princess St, in the middle of downtown Kingston. The menu is built around oshi — sushi pressed into a block and finished with a flame — and it is short on purpose, because everything on it is made when you order it.
What we set out to do
Three things we decided before we opened the doors
Oshi first
Rice pressed into a block, fish laid over the top, then torched to order. It is the dish the rest of the menu was built around, not a novelty item at the bottom of the list.
A short menu
A small number of dishes we make well beats a long list held on ice. Nothing sits under glass waiting for someone to point at it.
Good, without the ceremony
Food worth photographing, at prices that still work for a weekday lunch or a table of students. Downtown sushi should not be a special occasion only.

Three ways to eat with us
At a table
The full menu, seven days a week. No reservation needed for tables — call ahead if you are bringing a group.
Takeout
Call and we will have it ready. Rolls, oshi and platters travel better than most sushi, which is what we built them for.
Catering
Weddings, offices and parties around Kingston, quoted per order. See sushi catering →
